Fabian's Birthday Weekend
I (Seth) just got back Friday afternoon from a two week business trip to Columbus, Ohio. It was extremely good to be home. Saturday was Fabi's birthday, so that made it even better to be home.
Saturday morning Fabi opened up a present from us. He also had letters from home waiting for him. After briefly thinking the weather wasn't going to be very nice, it cleared off and we went to Adventureland. We were fortunate enough to find a couple of tickets for cheap on Craigslist, and then a kind soul at Adventureland gave us a free ticket the group she was in wasn't going to use.
We had a great time on the rides. I (Seth) didn't ride as many rides as Krissy and Fabi. Fabi's favorite rides were the Space Shot (fires you straight up into the air) and the Sidewinder (lots of spinning and getting flung around). As I get older I feel like my stomach doesn't hold up as well on some of these rides. The roller coasters, however, I can handle, so we enjoyed going on those.
Saturday night Fabi met up with some friends and had dinner and went to the homecoming dance. He has been meeting lots of people in his first months here, which is great.
After sleeping in on Sunday, we decided to take advantage of our 3 month climbing membership and headed to Climb Iowa. Fabi and Krissy both are a lot better than when I left two weeks ago (I think they went about 5 times while I was gone). I have a lot of catching up to do, I guess. We all got stuck on one climbing route, so that will give us something to work on next time we go.
Next weekend is Seth's birthday. We will be going to the Baylor vs. Iowa State football game on Saturday.
Below are some photos from the weekend. But first is a video of Ada at the dog park. Fabi trained Ada to make it through most of the obstacles at the park. You should make full screen so you can actually see her. She wipes out in the concrete culvert, but recovers nicely for a strong finish. Not a perfect run, but pretty impressive :)

Did some bouldering at the end of the day. We were way too tired
